AirValent Lite CO2 Monitor Released

The AirValent CO2 monitor is a device that I first reviewed earlier this year. If you’re interested, you can find the full review here:

In that review, I thought the device was a good monitor with an incredibly small size. While I did notice a few minor issues with the sensor (Photoacoustic CO2 Sensor Accuracy (SCD40 & SCD41)), I found it a handy device that I could easily recommend to anyone needing an ultra-small CO2 monitor. However, its biggest downside was (and still is) the price - it’s not cheap.

While it’s undeniably an incredibly well-built monitor (it reminds me of a high-end Samsung S series phone or iPhone) with good app connectivity and a good sensor, the price of around $150 USD puts it in the same playing field as the Aranet4 Home - a CO2 monitor with a fantastic reputation and many loyal customers. Unfortunately, it’s a very tough price to compete at, even if the AirValent device is better in some ways.

Fast-forward to now, and AirValent has released a new monitor. The aptly named AirValent Lite is a monitor that appears to be completely identical to the original monitor, but this one is made out of Bambu ASA (a 3D-printing material for outdoor use) instead of anodized aluminium. While I’m not the biggest fan of 3D-printed devices, this change in materials has led to a $50 price drop, and this device is selling for around $100 - still pricey, but a much more tempting offer.

If you were interested in the original AirValent device but couldn’t justify the price, the AirValent Lite might be worth looking into. I have one on the way, and I will be releasing a full review as soon as I can!
