Over the past few years, people have begun looking for additional measures they can take to protect themselves beyond wearing a respirator. This has caused a few new product categories to become quite popular, one of which is far-UVC lighting and another of which is portable air purifiers. My main issue with the portable air purifiers I’m using (QT3 and Respiray) is that they’re making a lot of noise when run with max effect which will create inconvenience for people in my environment. Has anyone looked into replacing the fan with a more quite one? I thought I’d ask as a first step of looking into it.

That’s a great point and something that needs to be considered.

I haven’t replaced the fan myself, but I assume a correctly-sized PC fan would work. This should give quite a few options for balancing performance and sound. If you do change the fan, I would love to hear your experiences and findings!
