I assume you have already read through this thread (or are at least aware of the issues with VOC sensors? If not, I would highly recommend reading at least the first few posts first:
If you want to test absolute VOC levels (and especially if you want to be able to distinguish exactly what VOCs are contributing to the overall concentration), I would recommend a professional test.
After you get a professional test, it could be worth adding an air quality monitor to your home so you can keep an eye on concentrations. However, based on what you’ve said, I would definitely recommend starting with a professional test!
