Airthings Corentium Home 2 Announced

After just finishing my review of the Airthings Corentium Home radon detector, Airthings has announced the Corentium Home 2. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Airthings Corentium Home because it’s such a simple device (you can read my full review here: Airthings Corentium Home Review - A Simple Yet Accurate Radon Monitor), the second generation of this device seems far more interesting.

Corentium Home 2 features a newly engineered upgrade to the radon sensor in the original version, making it the most accurate consumer radon monitoring product on the market. Additionally, Corentium Home 2 is now smart enabled, offering users the benefit of syncing via Bluetooth to the Airthings App to access real-time data and dynamic, detailed graphs - telling the full story of how radon gas is impacting their homes with practical, personalized advice in the palm of their hand. Corentium Home 2 will retail for $159.99 and is slated to become available for consumer purchase later this spring.

While it’s hard to know if it will indeed be the most accurate consumer-grade radon monitor, I find a few things exciting here.

Firstly, the device will cost $169.99 - only a $20 increase over the base price of the Corentium Home. Considering the extra smart features of this device, I think this is quite fair pricing, making it competitive with other consumer-grade radon monitors.

Secondly, where I found the biggest flaw of the Corentium Home (original) to be its lack of connectivity and other features, the second-generation device appears to be improving on this significantly. This alone makes me excited to try this device!

Spec-wise, the device looks quite similar to the first-generation device. However, since that proved to be quite accurate (please check out my full review for more information on this!), I would expect this second-generation device to also perform well.

The monitor is expected to be released in Q2 2025. If you’re looking at getting the original Corentium Home, I think it may be worth holding off for this updated monitor.
