In collaboration with AirSpotHealth, we gave away a couple of CO2 monitors a few weeks ago, and now we are giving away two more! You can find the thread to the first giveaway here: Win an AirSpot CO2 Monitor!
Now, it’s time for the second giveaway, and, as mentioned, there are two ways to enter - one is to reply to my post on X (you can find my profile here: https://x.com/safe_breathe) and the second is to comment your reply to the question below on this forum.
What’s your best tip for keeping indoor air clean and healthy?
I am very thankful to the wonderful team at AirSpotHealth for giving me this opportunity to give something back to the community. This is a fantastic monitor, and you can find my full thoughts below:
The two winners for this giveaway - one from X and one person that comments here - will be drawn this Sunday at midnight (GMT +5). Please let me and @JordanAirSpot know if you have any questions (feel free to tag either of us) and good luck!
We always use CO2 monitor, even if it is quite big for bringing it everywhere, but it always finds a place on the desk at school. At home we have HEPA filters in each room, and we struggle with the school for ventilation…with very poor results
Checken Sie meine Webseite: saubere-luft.jetzt
If the outdoor air quality is good, crack or open a window and run an air purifier. Extra bonus points if everyone within the space is wearing a respirator correctly.
Open windows all day long, purification of air via HEPA filters and monitoring with a CO2 and PM 2.5 monitor. Additional layer of protection in shared indoor places using FFP3 masks.
Hi, Ethan, I posted a comment, but I think it ended up being on your original review. I won’t double-post that response, but this is what I commented on twiX:
We’ve (hubs and I) never stopped masking (N95s) when out in shared air inside away from home, and we’re almost always the only ones doing so, even in our flagship state college city in Indiana. 2 HEPA air purifiers run constantly, plus open windows much of the time. Visits mask.
I live with my sister who’s an Emergency Physician, who I know is exposed to all kinds of viruses and infections in the ER. It’s not perfect, but I keep the windows open when possible (lovely in the Michigan fall right now) and always have 3-4 air purifiers on in the house. It’s not perfect, because she is not as invested in the cause as me and doesn’t always wear an n95 at work, but it’s how I’m surviving for now.
This air quality monitor would help me pitch the cause to her and show evidence of the power of air changes in a room and prove air filters and open windows clean the air.
We place four-inch furnace filters in our window (three filters duct-taped together to fit the window opening), and run a stand fan blowing out another window. This lowers the CO2 while also keeping the PMs down.
In the colder months, cracking open two windows on opposite sides of the house to create a cross breeze can provide effective ventilation without excessively cooling the space
As said in the comment last time, I would use the co2 monitor to be much freer in where I can take off my mask and I would use it to measure public and private places and post about it more often. Today I only do that for trains and company venues, because my CO2-monitor is too bulky to take it with me all the time
Run Corsi-Rosenthal boxes and/or HEPA air purifiers and fans. Don’t assume outdoor air is clean either. And use your CO2 monitor to understand how well you are cleaning your air.
My clean indoor air tip is - placing a fan in an indoor space & having it blow out an open window is an effective way for refreshing indoor air. Better still, having other windows open in the space or another room will make this even more effective. I’d love an AirSpot. Thanks!
"The air we breathe tells quiet tales,
Of dust & dreams, of calm & gales.
I open windows, let light through,
Let HEPA hum, the air anew.
FarUVC guards what eyes can’t see,
I hope AirSpot Health can keep watch for me.
In numbers clear, I find my peace —
Clean air, Better health, A Sweet relief."
That’s my best tip! Would love to try an AirSpot health love that you can wear it in different ways!
Keep air as fresh as possible through ventilation and air purification. Open windows and use HEPA filters/air purifiers. Rather than one big air purifier, buy afew medium/smaller ones and spread them throughout your home, especially in areas with poor ventilation. Aim for air purifiers with the highest air changes per hour that you can afford to buy. When people visit have them sit outdoors. If they need to go inside make sure the air purifiers are running on high and placed in spaces where people may hang out eg in the living room- we will move all our air purifiers in that space and also leave one in the bathroom.
