How about the Ikea Alpstuga? Its got CO2, PM2.5, humidity and temperature.
I’m really curious what sensors are inside it.

Hi @paper,
I have my eyes on this and would absolutely love to review it! Right now, I am just waiting as it’s not yet available at IKEA here. I will let you know as soon as I am able to get my hands on one, as I am also very curious what sensors are inside.
I’ve heard anecdotally, that the CO2 sensor is a bit off but for such a cheap unit, I wouldn’t be that surprised
I just moved this to a new thread because I have found out a bit more information.
According to this Reddit post the device uses Sensirion’s new STCC4 sensor. This is an ultra-small sensor that is also quite affordable.
I am actually in the process of testing this sensor right now (it’s also in the Atmotube Pro 2) and it performs decently. It’s definitely not as good as an NDIR sensor, or even a photo acoustic sensor, but it does give good insights into the general CO2 trends. Considering how affordable this device is, I think it’s hard to complain!
Awesome thanks for finding that.
That really checks out. You don’t need much precision on a sensor if its only designed to be a cheap way of telling general home levels
Hi @paper,
I’ve been testing the STCC4 a bit (the same CO2 sensor inside the Alpstuga) and it actually looks to perform quite well. The below graph is data from when I was testing impact of temperature on the sensor, but you can still see how closely it reads to an Aranet4 Home.
I will still be looking to get my hands on the Alpstuga when I can, but I think the CO2 sensor inside should at least perform quite well!
Wow thanks for looking into that. You’re right. In general those track together pretty well.
I just posted this:
It looks like we finally have clarity on what is used inside this device ![]()
